No, no joy. I disconnected the PC from the network and plugged the modem line direct into the wall socket, completely isolating it from the router but this made no difference. I also made sure that ZoneAlarm was completely disabled by unchecking 'Load ZoneAlarm at Startup' then re-booting so that can't have been obstructing anything. I've run VPC_cfg.exe though I don't have the MS firewall running.

I can connect, at least I get the white screen I'd expect to type on but I can't actually type anything. Is this because the chat room is not actually 'open for business'?
