I think most of the folks that use the OLR are on broadband. I find it's much more convenient.

Try visiting the message board through your browser and clicking the Check ACARS link (upper right side). If ACARS is missing from your system, it'll ask you to download and install it (if you've run VPC_cfg.exe) on this system. However, if you've updated your browser lately, you'll need to run VPC_cfg again (browser updates seem to change your security settings and overwrite ours).
If that works (download and install) and you still have trouble connecting to ACARS, check to see that your firewall has port 6667 open.
