Yes, it would just be the exe. You would copy it to the System32 directory.
It's hard to say what's causing the problem. With all the security settings and the AV and firewall programs, it's all too easy to have something like this happen. The fact that the ACARS ActiveX control downloads at all indicates that the *basic* ActiveX functions are working but either it is blocked from running the ax control OR it is blocked from creating the EXE in the System32 directory.
To which email address shall I send the ACARS.EXE file? Your AV may flag a warning about attached EXE's but, in this case only, ignore it. Any other time, be sure you know who is sending you an EXE file <g>.
