Hi Pete,<<Don't know why your setting of unlimited could cause a problem. What did it set in the CFG file? >>
This is the relevant line...
UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=0
I've just had this happen a third time so it's definitely a problem on my system. Maybe it's because I have opted to show the Start-up screen so I can choose airport, time, aircraft etc. In any case it really doesn't seem worth pursuing as I normally have this value set to 30. There are too many variables in the CFG to make finding the problem easy. If you don't get the problem then all well and good. I only mentioned it because it caused a problem on my system.
That sounds like a nice system - it's about time you upgraded! Well done AMD for keeping up with the fastest processors from Intel. I can't imagine Intel are over the moon though. The continued struggle for power will only benefit end users.
Going back to your message...
<<I vaguely remember something about there being TWO FS2002.CFG parameters which were related to this, not just the one, and I may have edited them manually some time back.>>
Well nothing springs to mind here. If you do happen to remember what it is it may be helpful but as I said earlier setting that value to unlimited is not something I intend to do now that I know the consequences.
