Correction: 195 radial from Shafter VOR. 305 was the heading of the airplane when I read the tool tip pointing to the course change knob in the C208.Encarta Interactive Atlas calls it "Buena Vista Lake Bed" but both the Atlas and the simulator show a lake that's about a mile wide and at least 2 1/2 miles long, with the long axis NW to SE. N35° 14.26' W119° 16.13 at 305 ft altitude should put you near the north end of it.
In case we need radio fixes to get our planes into the lake, there's plenty of room to fly a DME arc to the lake from the NW.
