While we're on the subject, perhaps I can provide some carrier landing tips: 1. Just as with any landing, a good approach is the key. If you make a bad approach, your chances of making a good landing go down significantly. 2. Reducing the amount of fuel you have onboard your airplane will make your aircraft handle and perform better. 3. Real aircraft carriers steam into the wind to reduce the landing distances. You can mimic this effect by adding a wind of about 30 knots (approximately the cruise speed of a modern aircraft carrier) straight down the deck. 4. Make your approach with full flaps and a high power setting. This will allow you to have more control over your landing point. 5. As James pointed out, Flight Simulator doesn't model aircraft tail hooks in the stock version. Although it isn't exactly realistic, you can obtain similar stopping power by landing with your parking brake enabled (Ctrl + .), deploying spoilers (/) and hitting full thrust reversers (hold F2) just before landing. 6.
