The weather is set for calm 12 hours of the day. You must have joined in during one of the calm periods. The "weather" starts from about 2355z to about 1200z and changes approximately every hour.

Yes, I would think something like AS would interfere/conflict with the PWF weather. But you have to keep in mind that the concept here is to fly in the same weather that everyone else in the session is flying in. With AS, only those with AS running will have that weather.
