Yes, I generally close it once I am on the runway rolling out for that reason.

I figure airborne the chances of picking up objects is fairly low. If I was landing in Texas in a sand storm I might consider different.

I just read where the Lycoming in the 152 isn't as prone as the Continental in our 150 due to carb location.

As I mentioned i've never (to my knowledge) had an ice issue (hope I don't) but I continually read of incidents related to it. Yet, I only have met one pilot that had a problem (in a 150, engine actually quit) so I am puzzled as to whether its something to "worry" about or just be "knowledgeable" about!

Hence my post, see what others think!
