Hi all!
The EA400 package was released over the weekend. You can download your very own "pocket rocket" at Avsim.com and Fsplanet.com. File name is: extra-400.zip
(Warning!) It's a heavy download at 12Mb.
But besides the airplane model, you get a complete panel/gauge package and sound package.

Excellent news! I'll be getting mine ASAP! Soon, we hope to get the libraries working here (long story <g>) so we won't have to venture from our back yard for such goodies!!

Hi Dee,

Dowloaded and installed <s> Only thing is that when you start FS2002 and select the Extra 400 you get the following error within 3rd party add on "Cad_StecSys55ap.GAU" click on OK (about 5 - 6 times) to get into FS.

Once in NO SOUND!! On checking my SoundBlaster Live Remote Centre I've been changed from Dolby Surround to 2 speaker! I then have to re-activate Dolby Suround to get sound back.

Then looking at the panel the Auto Pilot Gauges missing from the top of the panel. All there is is a black box where I would assume the AP should be. Should there also be other gauges/buttons at the top section of the panel?

Aircraft etc look fantastic other than that my friend. Here's hoping you can get my problem's sorted <G>.

Regards,

James (CONman) Anderson

Hmmmm... somehow you're having some kind of autopilot gauge compatablity problem. I have no idea how to sort that out, but if you drop an e-mail to the panel designer, Michael Verlin (mverlin@tampabay.rr.com) and explain it to him, I'm sure he'll be able to help you sort it out.

Thanks James! :-)

"Extra 400 Fix!"
Posted by DeeWaldron on 06-08-02 at 03:55z
Hi all,
Thanks for all the positive feedback on our EA400 model. Ike and Michael have just release a patch to fix the missing autopilot units in the original upload. You can download the fix at Avsim.com right now. The filename is:
extra-400_fix.zip

In other news...
In Germany, Walter Extra has been working on a turbo-prop powered version called the Extra 500!
We're thinking about it... ;)

Cheers,
Dee

Dee,

That's a nice-flying airplane! Very good .air file.

I have only flown it a few times and havn't delved
into the excellent avionics documentation but am very
happy with it.

Thanks Alan!
It's not much of a "Sunday Flyer" airplane, but if you have the time to climb it up to 18 to 20 thousand and lean her out, she really performs. :-)

Cheers,
Dee
