Gosh, sounds like a destination we might try in our informal Sat night flights.
Another interesting airport Barry Schiff just wrote about in AOPA Pilot is Courchevel "Altiport" in the French Alps. The runway length is 1,750' long with a field elevation of 6,580'. What makes it unusual is the runway is steeply inclined (said to resemble a downhill ski run), and an "aggressive" climbing flare is required for landing. Also, a lot of power must be maintained after touchdown to prevent the aircraft from rolling downhill backwards and to maintain enough inertia to taxi off the runway!
Like many mountain airports, this airport is a one way landing, and opposite way takeoff affair. According to reports, once you begin takeoff roll (remember, downhill!), there's no chance to abort. Maybe we can try that one some other evening.

Just tried searching for it in FS's database, but it's not listed. Bummer. All of the other tough airports we've looked for have been modeled. (Matsapha's even modeled!)
Anyway, Courchevel is supposed to be located 100nm southeast of Geneva. Perhaps it's listed in FSNav or we can just try to locate it by flying around out in that general direction.
