Have just purchased the Saitek X36 joystick. Mechanically it looks great but the literature is a bearcat. Try as I may I cannot make sense out of it. The manual is missing a lot and tells you to go to the CD. The CD keeps talking about another product. Does anyone know where I might obtain some decent programming literature for this stick?

For all things stick-worthy, I usually try www.stickworks.com first. What I found there was this link http://saitekhelp.simhq.com/

If your just using the stick for FS2002 all you need to do is install the drivers, theres not much point for the programming software, as FS2002 detects all the buttons/rotarys on my X36, and you can assign them within FS2002

As an existing user of the Saitek X36 as well I can confirm the 2 bits of advice already given.

The link Ben gave to simhq is an absolute must for X36/45 users, proper help from users, not the pathetic thing from Saitek

As Sam said if you only use it in FS2k/2k2 you probably won't need the programming bit of the software as you can assign most of the buttons through FS.

However if you decide later you want/need to program the buttons then check out the excellent tutorials at the simhq site. Programming can be a daunting at first until you get your head round some of the concepts.

A great combo and a good price, even better when you substitute CH Pedals
