"Flight Room Terminal update"

Greetings!

We've made a couple of updates to the Flight Terminal based on some suggestions/issues pointed out by Rick.

- We've updated the FAQ's to cover the as many possible problems as we could think up.

- Links in the FAQ's link to other FAQ's that have pertinent information.

- We've added an Flight Room FAQ link to the Flight Terminal page.

- We've also added a link to launch VoiceCOM from the Flight Terminal page.

Onward and upward!

Thanks!

Ben

GREAT!! That'll save me at least one open window :)

Greetings Jerry:

I don't know if everyone realizes this, but the main VPC window controls most of the other windows at the VPC. If you shut the main VPC window (the Lobby), it'll automatically shut down most of the other windows. Now I say "most" because we've elected to keep a few windows open even if the main Lobby is shut down. These include ACARS, chat windows, and the Flight Terminal. So I guess what I'm getting at here is if you enter the Flight Terminal, you can shut down the main Lobby without having the other flight-related windows will shut down on you.

Hope this helps!

Ben

It certainly does! And answers a question I was about to check out by experimentation (not wanting to appear stupid and ask :)

There's no such thing as a stupid question. :)

We've gone through great lengths to try and maximize usablity here at the VPC. For example, if a user repeatedly clicks on a feature (this only works when the user enters from the main VPC URL), it won't continue to load new windows. What we do is only allow the system to open one instance of that facility. For other pages/links, we open a new window, but only one new window and have the contents within that window refresh/update with the new content.

The list of little things like this is quite large and we've spent a lot of time trying to make things work the way we think they should, but most users won't notice them until you point them out. So again, there's no dishonor in asking questions.

Best!
Ben
