"Joystick calibration & sensitivity or aicraft calibration"
Posted by Emile on 04-10-02 at 18:39z
Hello,
I have downloaded from the site Flightsim.com a wonderful aircraft, the Grumman C-2A; very nice, with moving wings ....
I have small problems :
1/ when taxing on the runway, taxiways or ground, my joystick move from far left to far right , more speed generates more movements , it's not possible to hold the stick; the "wing ailerons" follow the movement... from the spot view it is nice ..
2/ at takeoff the sticks movements accelerates and it looks like a mixer in a kitchen .... and it make as much noise as a mixer.Is there a way to control this behavior? for example with FSUIPC??
Assistance of experienced engineer will be appreciated
Emile

I'm assuming that you're using FS2K2. I'm also assuming that you're using some sort of force feedback controller. If so, try adjusting Options: Controls: Forces. I don't have a FF stick on this machine, but if I recall correctly there was an option for adjusting ground handling effects. What it sounds like is the ground handling force effects for that aircraft are set way too high. Rather than get into editing that aircraft file (it'd take a while to explain all of that), let's try and find out if my theory is correct, try turning down the ground handling forces and see if that reduces the problem.
Hope this helps!
Ben

Emile - Assuming your using forcefeedback stick - look for a file called
FFUTIL21.ZIP - might find it on flightsim, if not, let me know and I'll e-mail you a copy.
It's a freeware utility that corrects the type of thing you're getting. Most 3rd party a/c seem to have a problem with FF and this little util scans your aircraft and gives you a list of those that are not configured properly with an option to correct same.
let me know,
Vic

Yes I run FS2K2 with a FF µsoft stick.
I tryed to find the utility program but had no luck.
