Greetings:

Now that we've got Subscriptions to Forums working AND the Off Line Reader, we've been receiving mail asking how to turn the Subscriptions feature off.

Go to User: Select Subscribe to Forums: Click Submit: uncheck all of the forums: then click Submit.

Note that this will not affect if you've selected to receive a email when a new message is posted to a thread. Those will continue to be processed. We can manually delete you from the email thread list, but the emails will subside as the thread scrolls down the message list if no one posts to the thread. If it's really a hassle for you, please drop me an email and let me know the thread number and I'll remove your email address from the thread subscription list.

Also, please refrain from blocking email from Admin rather than turn off Subscriptions to Forums as indicated above if you're VPC Crew. Admin is the account that will notify you of VPC-only events, offers, and news.

Actually, now that I think about this, even if you're not VPC Crew, blocking email from Admin isn't a good idea. If you forget your password and request that the system reset it for you, you'll never get your new temporary password. Moreover, if you do ever join the VPC as a Crew Member, you'll never receive your FlightAdventures email account info, or if you ever purchase anything from the VPC Pilot Shop, you'll never receive a confirmation on your order. The bottom line is Admin is the email account for just about everything that's automated or official from the VPC. Please consider these issues closely before blocking email from this account.
