On behalf of everyone at the VPC, I'd like to wish the same to everyone as well. 2001 was a year filled with the unthinkable. For me, this year will always be remembered by the horrific images from the attacks on 9/11 and the widespread aftermath. Although our sim interests pale by comparison, other "unthinkable" events such as the closing of MSN's MSFS Forum, CiS GAMERS, and possibly MicroWings indelibly marks this year as a one of great loss.

However, as self-serving, biased, and/or frivolous as it may sound, the VPC has become a beacon of hope for many of us. The VPC is a symbol of empowerment for us because we now have direct control over our future existence. This is in stark contrast and just the right antidote for the feelings of helplessness we experienced by the events of 2001. With everyone's continued help and support, we'll be able to bring the VPC to its fullest potential in 2002 and the years beyond.

So here's looking forward to 2002--a year of hope. God bless us all.

I wish to echo Ben's sentiments here as well. 2001 was a very difficult year for many, and the new year always brings hope for things to come. I wish that everyone realizes that hope!

Looks like I'm the last of the "SYSOPS" to thank you for your New Year's wishes and to return those good wishes to you.

In the military we learn to always look forward to a better tomorrow, and so, it comes naturally to us to think of the New Year as an opportunity for something better, no matter how badly the past has gone.

I wish to you and to all members of VPC that same outlook - toward a better tomorrow! And I take this opportunity to thank all the men and women in our Armed Forces who are serving overseas to protect us and this great country. God Bless you and come home safely....
