""Find Waldo" - Xmas 2001"

Carlos sent this from a recent flight. Now that I live in Southern California, I don't get to see snow like this anymore, so I thought I'd share it with everyone living in warmer climates this time of the year. See if you can find the runway. (Just FYI, the photo was taken by Carlos' FO from a Learjet.)

Hi all. This was the view on my approach into Sun Valley, Idaho on Saturday. Finding the runway was like looking for Waldo. Have a very Merry Christmas!

I think I spotted it (just left of the road, below the mountain in the center of the background), but am thinking that unless they were riding the ragged edge of stall and applying a LOT of rudder, they had to do a go-round and retry

Yep - I agree that it appears to be in the top center of the picture, parallel to the road. It would have been a lot tougher if they hadn't plowed the snow off it yet or if the snow was still falling. I do think the landing, however, is "makeable" from here.....:)
