"importing a/c"

Hi,
having problems with some imports of my other a/c from fs2k. Some sink into the runway at take off and others through me out of the sim at startup. Also will there be an SDK or somting advising how to make other floatplanes landable in water, since mine go 'glub' :)

Another disappointment was the clouds. at certain views they are obviously two dimensional disks in space. Ok if you just fly from inside the cockpit I spose. didn't sense this in fs2k (althought they did kind of slide out of your way as you passed).

Your help is appreciated as always!!
Blessings,
Donn

Hi Donn,

First of all the Aircraft you import from FS2000 into FS2002 nead to be true FS2000 based Aircraft not ones converted into FS2000. You will have to ensure that you copy all gauge files also. Some gauge files are not compatable with FS2002 hense you getting booted out of FS2002. The sim has just been released and as far as I'm aware there is only one float plane been designed exclusively for FS2002. I can't tell you where it's available from as it was posted to the folks on the Beta Team.

I know there is an SDK in the pipe line but not sure as to when Microsoft intend releasing it, Sorry.

Re: Clouds, on my system they are brilliant therefore I'm not going to comment further as I need to know what system specks you are running FS2002 on. I run a copy on a PII 233 MMX with a STB Velosity card with no effects as you are experiencing!

Regards,

James (CONman).

Hi CONman.
Re the clouds, I'm running a pIII 1000Mhz Dell. I fly from the spot view most often and when looking at the side of the a/c, as you fly past, you can see the flattness of the cloud form. Obviously when viewed from the front as you would from the cockpit, everything looks as it should. In fs2k, never had this obvious fairly unrealistic situation, from any view. Perhaps it is one thing that make the frame rates much improved?!?
