Greetings Jeff:

Let me get this straight: The software package doesn't come with instructions on how to use it? So much for buying Corp. Pilot for me.

We still may be able to help. Can you descibe the system modeled? Is it a GPS, FMS or external (from the aircraft) interface/planner?

Ben

I am not really impressed with Abacus products anymore, perhaps it is due to exposure to them...

When I first saw a copy of Custom Panel Designer, it looked pretty cool and I thought, "I gotta get this one". Found a copy on eBay, and even managed to get the software registered. Then I noticed that the functionality was a bear, the manual was passible but had not really seen my problems with the package so solutions were not available... Went the upgrade path, and still.. then found the freeware Panel Designer I used to redo the Rocketeer panel, and that was worth 6 times what I paid for Abacus' efforts, and a 1000 times what I paid for the freeware package itself, just in ease of use.

I also have a copy of their Aircraft Factory 99, and it arrived a little light. Seems that rather than putting out a manual for possibly the hardest part of the genre, ie. making your own airplane, they expect that you have a copy of the older FS5-compatible Designer for reference. It was "too hard" to get the software designer to write a manual for the AF99 package, but rather than realize they were hosed, they started shipping the software and screwing the customer...

About the only stuff they have made that hasn't left a sour taste in my mouth was their Flightbag and their CoPilot offerings.

Searh for a file named "FMCmanual.exe" or a shortcut named "FMC Interactive Manual". Find files for "FMC*.*" should locate both.
