* THE VPC - FLIGHTADVENTURES.COM MONTHLY FLIGHT RALLY *

    The FlightAdventures VPC is proud to announce its special monthly event aimed at Flight Simulation enthusiasts from all around the on-line world - THE VPC MONTHLY FLIGHT RALLY!

    The VPC Flight Rally is designed to be a simple yet exhilarating event that can be held monthly to allow Flight Simulation enthusiasts of all platforms and all experience levels to participate.

    After the Flight, the VPC Conference Room "Pilots Lounge" will be open to allow the enthusiasm, fun and camaraderie to mature, and share those crazy stories and discussions about how our Virtual Pilots made it to the airport! Pilots are strongly encouraged to drop into the live conference and chat on-line with other VPC pilots and Staff. First time visitors are also welcome to drop in and find out more about it!

    Every month, the VPC Staff will announce a destination somewhere in the world, and the rest is up to you! If you choose to join in the event by "flying" to the announced destination, you may use the flight simulator program of your choice (AS2, FLY, FLY II, FS4, FS5.x, FS95, FS98, FS2000, FS2002, XPLANE, etc.) that supports scenery for the chosen destination. You may choose any route you want to get there. Your flight may originate from anywhere you choose. You fly whatever aircraft you like, under any weather conditions you feel comfortable with. The complexity of your flight is up to you.

    For our part, the Staff will try to be imaginative in choosing destinations each month. While many of our members regularly use Microsoft's Flight Simulator, we also try hard to check the availability of specialist scenery to enable users of other simulations to fly the Rally. Watch out for news of specialist add-ons for these and other simulations to be made available to members from time to time.

    There are no strict requirements, no Multi-Player hook-ups, no phone calls to Approach Control, no arrival times, and no registration. Simply fly to the pre-arranged destination, trying your best to arrive at the set date and time announced each month, and join us afterwards in the Pilots Lounge to tell us about your trip! If you do not wish to actually make the virtual flight, but still wish to join us in the on-line conference, please do so - you will be most welcome!

    We hope that you'll use your imagination. We'll give you a destination - you tell us about your flight, your passengers or cargo, any problems you encounter, or anything interesting or unusual. We encourage you to be creative! When you arrive, please join our virtual get-together in the Pilots Lounge to rub elbows and swap stories with your fellow pilots!

    Feel free to post regular write-ups or "Flight Reports" giving the full story (with screenshots if you wish), of your trips when attending our Rallies! They will make fascinating reading!

    So whether you fly a Jumbo, a Piper, or just stick your arms out and go "Vroom-vroom!", be sure to join in the fun! Watch the Message Board Announcements "VPC Flight Rally #xx" and on FSFORUM for announcements on dates, times and destinations. (Note xx donates the Rally Flight Number.)

    All those pilots wishing to join a Multi-Player Session and fly the whole or part route online can join an existing flight from within the VPC Flight Terminal. Further details on joining/using the Flight Terminal can be found in the Flight Terminal Information page.

    VPC Flight Rallies take place on the SECOND Sunday of every month and are timed to take place (arrive at destination) at 1500 EST/EDT (3:00PM). For our International members, this is 2000 ZULU/GMT/UTC (8:00PM) in Winter, and 1900 ZULU/GMT/UTC (7:00PM) in Summer when Daylight Saving Time is in effect - check the announcements each month along with the FlightAdventures Announcements (on the Message Board), for the exact timing!

    Questions, comments or suggestions are welcome and encouraged! Drop us a line in FSFORUM. See you at the airport!
