Ben Chiu Certificates/Ratings/Crew Stations: "Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!" 04-28-01, 03:23z  ____________________ Welcome to the FlightAdventures VPC! Due to many unforseen issues, it has taken quite a bit longer than we originally anticipated to get online, but HERE WE ARE! Thank you for your patience, and continued support. We've still got a lot of work ahead, but at the very least, we now have the ability to do everything that the old MSN Forum was able to do. Actually, we're able to do a bit more already (we have VoiceCOM and our old MSN Microsoft Flight Simulator Forum Chat has moved in and is going already). The biggest exception from the forum that we never got to rebuild at MSN/ZDNet is, of course, that WE ARE NOW IN CONTROL! We no longer have to fear that some non-flight sim'ing yahoo is going to shut it down and all of our hard work will just dissappear. This is our forum guys. Let's build the FS Forum that we've always talked about. This is our chance to do it, and do it right. I'll try and keep this short, so just a couple of other points to VPC Personnel, returning fellow sim heads, and new visitors: Although we're just entering Beta testing of the VPC, the message board is open for posting. So please start spreading the word that we kept our promise and we're here. But please note that our Official Grand Opening won't happen until we have all of our features fully tested. Since we are in a testing phase, not all VPC features have been installed, and some may even intermittantly slow down or go offline. Please bear with us as we make things work correctly. We don't want to build the VPC without everyone's input. We want to build a site for the commuity it serves. We're all very open to suggestions, and please help us out with bug tracking in the VPC Beta Message Board Forum. Finally a site were some SMART people know what they are doing,with out some DUMB CEO looking over the shoulder. I have some questions about your direction on programs like Janes USAF, and other virtual flight programs, will flight squadrons be able to fly on your site ? Top

We "plan" on supporting as many mulitplayer flight sims as possible. Of course, we'll have to add them one at a time. Our prioriety right now is to get the basic FS2K and FS98 flight areas running. We figured that from there CFSx should be simple, and that we'd support those just for a hoot now and then. I'm not too familiar with USAF's/Janes' combat.net protocol, but we can certainly look into it when the time comes. Thanks for your support and feedback. Best! Ben Top
