Hi Maurice>> I seem to remember that you were getting yourself a new LCD earlier this
year. If that's so what is your impression? <<
When I bought a new PC back in April (?) I specc'd an 18" LG TFT. The graphics card is the nVidia GeForce3 Ti500. The original driver that came with the PC gave a weird halo effect to any red lettering (eg frame rates, etc) but, since upgrading the driver, now the 28.32, I've had no further problems. I've tried later drivers with no obvious improvement so stuck with what works.
The screen's a dream. Wouldn't go back to a CRT for anything, but I know others out there who still prefer them so obviously it's very much a matter of personal choice. I'm not surprised you like the Eizo. I've read some very complimentary reports on their LCDs. What I wouldn't give to be able to afford another TFT on this now rather cramped desktop
As an aside, I was looking into the possibility of upgrading my rather dated 4:3 TV set the other day. Apart from being stunned by the monstrous size (and cost) of some of these 32" 16:9 sets, which I've decided to steer clear of for a while, I was particularly taken with a rather gorgeous 22" LCD 16:9 TV. Trouble is they come in at >£2000. Guess that idea is another that goes on hold until I win the lottery, when I'll probably have one for each room and a big 50" plasma set for the home cinema - ha ha.
