"Simulator Packages"

I realize it is no suprise, but the classic Microsoft game packaging, along with any hope of a decent manual, appears to have gone extinct. I was in the electronics department of a discount general retailer last night and all the Microsoft flight simulations on display were in the new miniature packages. The store was displaying copies of Combat Flight Simulator 2, Flight Simulator 2002 Standard, and Flight Simulator 2002 Profesional. All the packages had reduced size graphics on their fronts resembling the graphics on the corresponding full size packages. The new packages have the same width and height as the common DVD packages and game packages for the late model game consoles (Playstation 2, GameCube, Xbox). the package thickness/depth resembles the boxes commonly used for boxed multiple disk DVD sets in the American market (somewhere in 7/8 to 1.0in or 22-25mm range - didn't have a tape allong for an exact measurement). Package materal appears to be the same gloss finished paper that was used in the full size boxes. Robert Near KORF
