"ADDON SCENERY"
05-17-02, 01:17z

I have just downloaded a couple of small Airport Scenery Add-Ons.
Downloaded to C:\download\unzipped.
Copy/paste into FS2002\ADDON Scenery
When trying to activate in FS2002 World/Scenery Library/
Clk. Add Area/D.Clk ADDON Scenery folder.
When I select the file to Add to Scenery the OK button is "Greyed Out" ie will not install.
Have I again missed out a vital step, everything seems to be in order but just will not instal into the Search library
Any advice very welcome and TIA
Regards,
Andy

Greetings Andy:

There are many things that can go wrong when adding new scenery. The most common problem is not having the required sub folders. Each scenery area must have a \scenery and a \texture folder.

As far as I can recall, the addon scenery folder is already enabled in FS2K2 by default. Regardless, the grayed out button usually indicates some missing folder or file issue. I'd check there first.

Hope this helps!

Ben

Hi Andy,

Why put the down loaded scenery into the ADDON Folder? The easiest way to add scenery is to unzip the zip file to either it's Original folder(s) or unzip to a temp folder. Create a FS2002\Scenery\***\Scenery and a texture folder in the *** folder and place all the BGL files into the Scenery folder you created and then all other files into the created Texture folder.

*** = Whatever name you wish i.e. Stanstead

Your Folder list you just created will then look like this :-

D:\FS2002\Scenery\Stanstead\Scenery
" " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " " \Texture

Then go and activate the scenery within FS2002.

Regards,

James (CONman) Anderson
