DHamblin Certificates/Ratings/Crew Stations: 3. "RE: Oshkosh 2002" 07-31-02, 11:32z  My 8th year actually. We generally go up from Tuesday through the weekend. I was more concerned about overly restrictive security after 9/11; while there may have been more security people the same rules applied as before so that was good. I don't think the crowd was any larger or smaller than normal; but I haven't read any estimates to date on it. Its a great escape for us; we generally don't see a newspaper (other than EAA's AirAdventure Today) or watch the news; so all your trouble fades for the week. Its great to see Patty, Dale, Melissa etc and have some time to talk (Oshkosh is hectic but not as hectic as a weekend airshow). Dave Hamblin (formerly DaveH on old site!)
