Hi Pete,>>I wuz just wonderin' what is the advantage of an OLR with a broadband? I
have Cable Modem, what would it do for me? <<
As well as what Tom said, the ability to have every message stored locally on your own computer is a huge plus for me. When I got broadband, I *still* used OzWin. Mainly because of what I just said, but also for the ability to manage the message base how *I* wanted to, not CIS <g>. There have been more times that I can count when I had a problem, and remembered that someone mentioned the same thing way back when. On CIS if the message had scrolled off the board, you were SOL, *unless* you had OzWin. With OZ, you just do a search, and find it. Same is true here now too!
>>Hey we'll be flyin' to KSJC in May. Going to a wedding in Santa Rosa,
but figured we'd visit my mother-in law in San Bruno, my brother in
Livermore, my nephew in Fremont and my old stompin' grounds in Hayward.
Even tho' my mother-in-law lives right above SFO, I hate flying in and
out of there, so I just go to SJC or OAK, rent a car and do all my
visitin'. No hassles, no rush.<<
You *BETTER* give me more detail and plan on getting together while you're here! I'll ding ya via email.
