>Congrats William .. you have given me inspiration
>Regards AndyC Thanks Andy.
Actually, it was FS that first gave me the inspiration to get started with flying. I confess that I forget which version of FS that was - the graphics were, well, hardly even graphics as I recall. But the flight models were still fun. Anyway, I remember thinking - heck, if I can do this, I bet I can fly a "real" airplane.
That led to ground school and lessons, and several months later to my private license. It was very gratifying to achieve that accomplishment.
For a variety of reasons, I don't get up in a real plane much these days. I'll get back to it when I am able - but it is not somthing one can do only "occaisionally" when the spirit moves you. Proficiency must be taken seriously and worked at to maintain.
But flying FS is much more than a poor substitute for the real thing. The last time I went up for my biennial flight review, after not flying for several years, my flight instructor was quite surprised at the degree of proficiency I had maintained. It was all done on the computer.
So now things have come full circle, and I have an official virtual license to fly my PC. I guess there's no stopping me now!
Regards,
William
