The flight was ATC controlled by RadarContact. At Dayton, after getting ATIS and talking to ground we were assigned runway 18. Had to hold short to wait for a landing aircraft. After being cleared for takeoff, the tower instructed us to takeoff on runway heading and climb to 5000 ft.
We were handed over to departure who instructed us to climb to 15000 ft and continue on heading 295. 40 miles from MUNCIE we were handed over to Indianapolis Center and instructed to continue climb to FL 200. After another 20 miles, Chicago Center took over who later gave us a crossing restriction of 7000 ft 4 miles from KNOX.
Enroute to Chicago Heights (CGT) we were handed over to Approach at 23.6 DME and instructed to descend to 5000 ft on heading 315.
This brought us straight to Chicago which skyline appeared in the dusty skies after some time. Even better, we got a direct fly-over the home of flight simulation, Chicago Meigs field.
North of O'Hare we were vectored to heading 225, then to 160 and descended to 3500 to catch the localizer of Chicago Midway's runway 13C when 15 miles out. Copilot handed over controls short of the airport and the Captain landed at 14:35 local time.
