"Multiplayer stuff"
12-24-01, 03:19z

I had an interesting experience this afternoon. I wanted to do some flying, so before setting out on my own I stopped by TradeIP.com to see if anyone had a flight posted. (It seems to me that this venue is not what it used to be back a few years ago when I was flying a lot) Some fellow is doing a flight from the Arctic to the Antarctic via North and South America. He is currently in Alaska. He is posting on TradeIP as he flies each leg. I logged on to his session and flew with him from Yakutat to Pelican Bay in float planes. It was a great trip. He was using real world weather... there was an overcast that went down to 800 feet and Pelican bay is in a deep inlet between mountains. Sortuva Alaskan fjord I guess. I stayed out of the inlet over water until I broke out of the clouds and then flew up the inlet at 500 feet above the water. It was really exciting and the scenery and graphics incredible! My hands were sweating. I love multiplayer.

BTW, there's a bug in FS2002 where the multiplayer chat window will not scroll down automatically. It's extremely annoying. The guy I was flying with told me to download a patch for that called something like FSCHATSCROLL or something. I've looked around on a couple of download sites but I can't find it. Does anybody know anything about that?

Speaking of bugs in FS2002 multiplayer... I always see the other plane with a non-rotating propeller. It would be great if somebody could make a fix that just removed the prop altogether on multiplayer planes.

Yo Rick,

I enjoy MP sessions but, recentlly haven't been flying on line (no one to fly with :-( When ever you fancy it over a week end then drop me a line mate.

Have you tried Roger Wilco as believe me it saves a heck of a lot of typing <LOL> and is more user friendly. Give it a try.

Hoping you have a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.

Regards,

James.

Thanks Vic... and James, yes, I always use RW when I can but this fellow that I was talking about (doing the big trip) was not using RW because he was on a 56k line and sometimes had as many as 8 people with him.

But I often find myself using the chat window because I fly a lot with newbies when using TradeIP... and of course they never have RW to start with.
