Deleting the message file won't help much because once you login again, the OLR will download all of the messages again. BUT, if you set the min/date function, it won't download all of the messages before the set date---but IT WILL download an entire thread again if someone replies to a message/thread that you've already deleted. While it may solve your HD space issue, it won't be good for download times as you'll be downloading the same threads multiple times. > What do the rest of the guys on here do about this little problem? I don't know. Guys? So far not one person has brought this up as an issue other than yourself. We're looking into it, but for the reasons listed above, it's not going to happen until we move to the next generation of VPCOLR, which is a pure databased version of the message board. Norm, are you short on HD space completely or just on the drive/partition that you have the OLR installed? If it's the latter, we can help. > I think I'm getting more and more confuzed here! FWIW, what's going on is we have three components working here; Perl with OLR.pl, MySQL, and VPCOLR. - OLR.pl connects to the message board, retrieves messages by stripping off the HTML code and then passes the results to MySQL. - VPCOLR is a GUI that controls OLR.pl and MySQL. MySQL is just a database that stores the messages. Perl is an external compiler of sorts/command interpreter. > Hopefully someone may have some answers! We have some answers, but unfortunately, they're probably not what you want to hear. All I can say is hold tight, we'll find a solution eventually, but it will take some time.
