I wrote a book a few years ago called "Fire and Air" which would give you much more detailed answers. Regarding age, I was in my 20s, but I'm wondering why you ask? Are you interested in flying and are you concerned about your own age? Re: the Extra, it's the strongest airplane out there. I love the Pitts, but it's not competitive in international aerobatics which I was involved in for a long time.
