Hey Mike glad to see another soon to be acro junkie. Lots of good questions. Tom has answered most of them very similar to how I would have but I'll ad a few more thoughts. Barnstormers is my favorite search site and Trade-A-Plane is second. A third one that is ok is www.globalplanesearch.com they have a section for aerobatic AC. It has a lot of double hits but it seems to list some stuff thats not on the other two. Don't be too scared of a homebuilt/kitbuilt/experimental whatever you want to call it aircraft. I have seen some used factory planes that I would be scared to taxi in. There are plenty of homebuilts built with better quality than a production aircraft. Whatever type of AC you choose a pre-purchase is a must by a knowledgeable mechanic. Both the Eagle and the Pitts are awesome aircraft with proven track records. An Eagle is very similar in performance to the S2-A with more creature comforts. More visibility, more cockpit room, nicer lines etc. The S2B has the obvious horse power advantage but it sucks down a lot more gas and has 2 more cylinders to maintain. If your not sold on a 2 place it's hard to beat the bang for the buck in a nice S1 pitts weather it be a C/S/E or T model. If all that confuses you take a look at Bud Davidsons web site www.airbum.com he's a pitts nut and has written a bunch of great articles on them including one that explains the differences in models. Well with all the info and research material Tom and I have left you with you should be busy for a while but feel free to ask as many questions as you want and we'll do our best to answer them. There's some more links on my web page you might be interested in as well so if you want to take a look. Kendal www.littletootaerobatics.com
