"Another off the wall question"

Must be getting old - my mind wanders to strange things <g> -

When there's an airshow at an airport - are the tower facilities manned by the regular staff or are there people present who are more familiar with airshow traffic control?

Thanx,

Vic

Hi Vic

It depends on the airshow. Many of the large military airshows use their own ATC to help with the airshow. Most of the other airshows use their own "Airbosses," contract people with ATC or other pertinent airshow experience that can handle managing the acts, timing, sequence etc. The performers usually prefer to have a professional "Airboss" running the airshow.
