Hey Teeb -

Come on home, we miss you! And wear that jacket with the leather covered elbows, please????

May all your landings be no more than two bounces,

Vic

Sure do tb.. hurry back.. you are missing all the fun.. like someone, who shall remain nameless, during the last flight, missing the WHOLE airport and landing at the WRONG one !! :)
Regards,
Andrew.

Hey u all, just need to get boned up so I can enjoy with u the flights. When I fly to Knoxvill,TN or Atlanta, or, Washington,DC etc. I fly by dead reckoning and compess guessing. Plain and simple this is not right. I need VOR, DME., GPS, Radio Stack, Auto/Pilot, Intersections, etc. training. I am not planning to become a pilot, but more reading and trial/error flying will get me to the point where I could understand what u are doing/saying.
I need a clear cut formula to getting into Multi/Player & RW. Somehow I need to find away that I know I am in M/P, without repeating "can u see me!".
I had FS98 for 6 yrs. I probably won't upgrade 02 until 06.
I am not going away (ok, ok I can hear the groans), but I do plan to drop in and ask questions which better relate to the reasons u joined F/A in the first place. I will not have the least of ur knowledge, but I plan not to be so far behind u can't see me.
Leave, thats not an option. As a group and individuals u are invaluable....I can not, nor will I forget that.
THX,TB.

Hey Teeb!

Glad you're OK! I can understand your frustration, but come to the chats and the flights and ASK questions. For the type of flights that we do the basic navigational skills will serve you well.

Check out this site for some really good basics:

http://www.navfltsm.addr.com/basic-nav-general.htm

As far as knowing when you're in mp and rw - click the RW icon and look at the IP displayed in the box. For MP, click on the FlightSim screen and then press return - the CHAT box should open up and you'll see the names of the players in the game. If it doesn't open - you're not connected. Another way to check is to click Flights/Multiplayer in the menu - if you see an option for DISCONNECT that means you're connected. If you see an option CONNECT that means you are DISconnected.

You'll get it so hang in there - it's no fun to land without debris on the runway <G>.

CYA SOON,

Vic

Greetings tb:

Why wait for 2006 to upgrade to FS2004?

Amazon currently has FS2004 on for $30 and has a $20 rebate. Net cost to you is $10 + $4.99 shipping.

Click the link to FS2004 at Amazon.

The rebate (exprires 2/1/06) is here:

Remember, we're all here to help with questions and don't forget our Ground School. We have an online NAVAID trainer as well.

Hey TB,
Study fast, we miss you already, and misery loves company!

For my part, with Roberts' flight plans getting more challenging, I realised I had forgotten almost everything I learned while working through the built-in checkrides in the simulator. I enjoyed the learning process the first time - now I get to enjoy it all over again (Alright!!).

Maybe you could think of the weekly flights as progress pop-quizzes - good thing I can't remember if I liked those during school !!!

Don't be too long or we'll have to start planning a road trip!!
David

Hey again TB!

Just in case you were wondering ... I'm the one who is miserable, but I figured that was obvious, oh my god I need a vacation, my only diversion is spending time with you guys - (how sad is that? where is that box of kleenex?)

Looking forward to seeing you soon...

David
