A VFR flight from Paso Robles or Santa Maria with pilot's choice of the helicopers that come with the simulator OR some of the slower vintage planes that come with the simulator. FS 2002 pilots could use the Bell or the Camel. Pilots flying either simulator could also choose the Cessna 172 or 182. Cruise at over 90 knots discouraged. Maybe we could have some landings on runway 7/25. Direct routing using magnetic compass and "Mark 1" eyeball for navigation (many of the planes lack radio navigation gear anyway) with pattern entry at KSBP.

Some of the classic planes in FS 2004 have interesting features like animated valve lifters, pilots that move their heads and arms in response to control movements, and moveing control cables!

Other ideas welcome. Discussion expected here and in the scheduled weekday pilot lounge chats (Mar 17 & 19 at 0300z).

G,day Robert & guys,

Sounds good Robert, more like my kind of flying :) . I might opt for the Piper Cub.. now there,s a real speed machine.. so fast they dare not use flaps :)
We can kick it around before the 21st.
Regards,
Andrew.

G,day again Robert, guys,

I have been checking it out and there are a staggering 23 airports/fields within a 57' radius of KSBP, that is in FS2004 not sure about 2002 but that number of fields must lend itself to some ideas.. say.. timed take off,s from various fields to all arrive in the KSBP circuit from all directions at the same time (a discussed ETA)
Give that nasty controller something to do for a change tb ? :)
I have listed all the airfields with Bg and distances from KSBP and if some kind soul would give me instructions (in very simple form :)) on how to copy and post them in the message board I would be only to pleased to do so.
Regards,
Andy

Probably would be appropriate to have a discusion of how to put tables in a thread in the "VPC Tech" Forum. I will type as simple a procedure as I can come up with and post something there. It requires a few Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) tags though.

It isn't as pretty as what I have been posting, but it's A LOT less complicated. Look in the "VPC Tech" forum for a thread titled "Posting SIMPLE Tables".

Airport density is quite a bit higher down in Los Angeles. While it's a bit crowded, it was a great place to learn to fly because of all of the destination options.

LOL! It'll only work if you all arrive at the same time! :)
