"Scenery Library"

Posted by andor on 02-28-04 at 23:22z
G,day guys,
Re the Scenery Library in FS9.
I have installed Matt Fox,s LC_CAV2 into the scenery library and given it (as per his Read Me File) a lower priority than LAX or SFO, doing so made a marked improvement to the CA landclass scenery, originally I had installed it as "last in" ie No1.
Could someone tell me the reason for this priority of installation as I may unknowingly have problems with other addon sceneries.
Grateful for any advice & TIA
Regards,
Andy

Greetings Andy:

Did you install the VPC version of Central California Coast (KSBP) scenery? If so, then you don't need to install Matt Fox's LC_CAV2 because it is already installed with the VPC version. I don't know what will happen if you have two versions installed.

Hello Andy,
I did download and install this LANDCLASS files.
What I have done and it works :
I have all VPC/California sceneries (airports) and textures in 1 folders with highest priority
I have a California Landclass folders (only scenery) just below = less priority
I have the LC_CAV2 landclass folder (I did rename it " California Landclass lowest priority" , only scenery) almost at the bottom of the priorities.

To my understanding a LANDCLASS bgl file may NOT be mixed with sceneries ; it may not be in a folder scenery associated with a texture folder . If you do so the game will "eat" all your memory up to an FS9 error message.
See AVSIM :

Hope it helps

G,day Emile,
Many thanks for your information, it would explain the problem I had with the LC_CAV file, I had it in FS9 scenery folder. Will keep checking it out, again thank you.

Andy.
