"Windows XP on multiple machines"

I am considering moving from Win98 to XP on my home network (prompted by the PSS Dash8 which doesn't like my Win98 installations).

Buying a separate retail package of XP for each machine would be rather expensive here in the UK.

Do MS offer a multiple licencing deal suitable for home users? I seem to recall reading something about users who tried to activate XP on a second machine being quoted a modest activation fee by MS.

Anyone had any experience with this? I tried posting on the wideview forum, but got no UK info, and I am not sure where to contact MS UK directly. Thanks.

I don't know their official policy but I would assume they want each copy licensed. that said, I also know of several people, here in the US, who activated the same copy on multiple machines by telephone with absolutely no problem. This does not seem to work tho, if you do the activation online.

HTH,

Of course, I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once before, but I was mistaken.
