I have looked everywhere and punched all the keys I have not been able to change displays of either ADF or VOR2. Sorry about such a dumb question but after serveral hours it gets d**n frustrating.

Greetings Art:

No such thing as a dumb question. :)

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by change the display. Also which aircraft are you talking about.

Thanks!

Ben

Hi Ben

Having a VOR and an ADF visible on the instrument panel, I would like to disable the ADF and display the second VOR. I was using the 182 RG and it has one VOR and the ADF displayed.

TIA

OK, now I understand.

Unfortunately there's no built-in, fool-proof way to do what you want You'll need to either use a panel editor or manually edit the panel.cfg file in the 182rg/panel folder (make a backup first!).

Look for the line:

gauge00=Cessna182rg!ADF, 454, 169

and change that to:

gauge00=Cessna182s!VOR2, 454, 169

Hope this helps!

Ben

Greetings again, Art:

It's too bad it it's much harder to do in real life! :)

Perhaps I should have been clearer. You can make the edit changes in my last message using a standard text editor like notepad (which comes with Windows). The panel editor usually makes panel changes "easier" by adding a graphical interface. I'm not sure (MS only sent us the standard version to review), but FS2k2Pro may have a panel editor. If not, you can check the usual suspects (avsim.com, simflight.com, flightsim.com, simviation.com, etc.). I don't know if there are any specific FS2K2 panel editors out, but if there is one, it'll show up at one of those sites.

Good luck!

Ben

Hi Ben

No problem I did use Notepad and I will look for an editor. My only other question at the moment is where do you find the specs to know what to enter in the various panel configs.

Thanks Again

I haven't looked at it yet, but I'd assume the Panel SDK for FS would have all of the gory details. Check the Flight Sim site at Microsoft (there's a link to it from the FS2k2 menu).

Best!

Hi Art

Check out: http://www.cfgedit.com/

'cfgedit' is a great freeware panel editor I use to tweak panels. I don't know how up to date this link is. If you draw a blank, try searching Google or similar for 'cfgedit.exe'
