Hey Ben, nice to put faces to people you 'know' especially when you know there is no chance of ever meeting them in real life.

Now not one of you, apart from Patty, look anything like I imagined :-)

Oh don't say that! If things continue going the way they're going, there'll be opportunities for VPC Crew to get together once every year or so. ;)

I'm afraid to ask! :)

Actually most of us have had pictures of ourselves in the About Us section of the VPC since the beginning just about a year ago. http://www.flightadventures.com/about.htm

Speaking of which, I think we're coming up to the one year anniversary (sic) of the closing of GAMERS.

I think the guys would agree that she looks even better in person. :)
Simply dynamite!

For VPC Crew that weren't able to attend, we're feverishly editing our first episode of FlightAdventures TV: FlightAdventures Goes to the Miramar Air Show. Stay tuned!

Hey, my day started VERY early that Sunday, and it's obvious that I didn't get the beauty sleep I so desperately need! At least I remembered to get dressed. <g>

I'm thinking you would have had to start the nap about Thursday afternoon in the first case... (ducking and running)

<from a distance> and you are right. A dressed Greenie beats the alternative like a red-haired stepchild...

If your computer starts making funny sounds (funnier than normal), be VERY afraid!! <vbg>

Sheez, if I wanted abuse like this I'd go to the Department of Motor Vehicles! <LOL>

Great pix guys.. (pity they spoilt it for you Patty :)

I disagree Vulcan, I reckon they look EXACTLY as I imagine them, even Vic looks like I was 20 years ago :). I further disagree about not having an expectancy in seeing you guys... not if.. but when!!!
Lucky dogs, hope they behaved themselves Patty, Oh. I know Vic would.. but the others.. Hmmmm?
Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy,

>>I further disagree about not

Yup, that's the spirit! I've lost count as to how many "online" folks I've met over the years. The funny thing is that many times it's not really even planned...it just happens. The best part is that you already know each other, so there's really no awkwardness at all.

I'll relate a story. Back in '96 I went to the Microwings con in Dallas. There, I met (for the first time) a WHOLE bunch of folks that I've known for years. Gunner, Mike Fisher, Enrico Schiratti, Howard Bloom, etc etc. Of course most everyone else was experiencing the same thing. However, there was one old-timer named Jack, and he was talking to me and Gunner. He just couldn't understand how all of these people "knew" each other without having actually met. It turns out that he was simply a subscriber to the magazine, and while he did have a computer (so he could fly FS), he wasn't on the internet. He just couldn't grasp the concept of getting to know folks by typing back and forth on the computer. I met him again at the *last* MW conference in Seattle, and he had subsequently gotten "online" and finally understood what I was trying to relate four years prior. <g>

Communities like FSFORUM, GAMERS, and now the VPC really foster and nurture that type of relationship with it's members. Here we talk *WITH* each other rather than talk *AT* each other like you see on so many other fora. That's why I'm here and not there <g>.
