"Favorites / Bookmark Utilities"

Here are some sources for some of those handy favorite/bookmark utilities I mentioned in the Jun 22, 2005 0200z chat. Note that SOME are specific to Microsoft's browser, while others are specific to Mozilla browsers like Netscape and Firefox. A lot of them are compatible with both browser types.

For those that didn't join the chat, these acomplish handy tasks like measurement conversions, overriding hard to read web page text/background combinations (doesn't affect file on server), quieting web pages with annoying background music and viewing the default page in the parent directory on the web site (for some of those "page not found" problems).

Some call Bookmarklets created for Internet Explorer "Favelets".

Be prepared for a security warning when you save the bookmarklet/favelet on your computer. Basicly they are a bookmark that contains a JavaScript instead of a URL. By design JavaScipt has some strict limitations on accessing your system's file system, but Internet Explorer tends to lump Javascript in with the less controlable Visual Basic Scripts.

I originaly learned of these three sites in a PC Magazine article (I don't recall the date).
