Hey Patty, I contacted you via email and met you at the Andrews AFB airshow a couple years back. I'm looking forward to this weekend's airshow, any chance I can meet you again?

Aha, a little late in answering...but these airshows are so unpredictable. Some airshows make it easy to meet the performers wtih autograph booths set up, or having performers just park close to the fence...however, at a "remote" show like Daytona BEach, the spectators are at the beach and the performers at the airport. I hope you enjoyed the show and were able to make it on Saturday.

Best!
Patty

Well...I'm a student at Embry-Riddle, so I'm pretty much on the airport too. The show was great though! It looked like you and Mike Mancuso had a competition going to see who could skip across the water first. Our newspaper has pictures of both of you skimming across the water....REALLY low. Great show!

One of the most incredible clips I recall of skimming low over the water was in an IMAX film (I believe it was "To Fly" but don't hold me to it...) where Jim Franklin was running across a glass smooth lake and placed both main wheels on the water for several hundred feet!!!!

Naw, you are the best, Jimmy a close second ;-)

This thread gives me an idea for a Christmas gift for my son Michael; I recall you can get the IMAX films (most at least) on DVD; I'll get him "The Magic of Flight" (as I recall you are in that one Patty), and "To Fly".
