"Vocabulary suggestion"

Dear VPC team,
Since English is not my native language, I first need to establish some vocabulary. I want to give "feedback" which my dictionary defines as "a sensory or perceptual report of the result of any behaviour which may reinforce or modify subsequent behaviour."
The feedback (not critique) is about my own, personal reactions when entering a Flight Room and having the choice of launching, starting or joining a "game". The word "game" triggers associations of win/loose, sports, children, hunting and some others. Do I want to play a "game"? No. I want to fly or discuss flying with the objective of learning something, or achieve a sense of accomplishment after mastering a given task. Given my own personal reactions to the 4-letter word "game", I would probably replace" game" with "flight", "group", "squadron" or some other enticing words, when beta testing completes. If that's too much work, I play the game. I am interested to know, what you think about this.
Happy landings.

Greetings Sancho:

I do understand your point, and I realize that you mention this somewhat tongue in cheek, however, our FlightRooms support all multiplayer DirectX programs (it's possible to restrict access to only the game that we want, but we couldn't come up with a good reason to do that). So in addition to FS98, FS2K, and FS2K2, we support other "games" such as Crimson Skies, Combat Flight Simulator, and Combat Flight Simulator 2, etc.. We also have a feature called Game Ladder (which keeps track of wins and loss records) specifically for "games" that support this. So in reality, we support more "games" than sims.

Actually way back in the beginning of the VPC, we toyed with the idea of a combat version of the VPC. Perhaps one of these days...

Thanks for the suggestions!
Ben

Hi Ben,
Thank you for a perfect, fast and sufficient explanation. I can easily live with "game", now that I understand the reasoning behind.
Happy landings.
