Okay, my first rant about FS2002. They removed the menu items for the AutoPilot and the Nav radio's! That was such a nice way to set the airplane on course while in full screen spot view, for taking pictures...
PUT IT BACK MS!
Okay, I'm done now... (G)

Hi Dee,

Unfortunately it wouln't happen as personally I don't see as that will be much of an excuse for them to :-) I think it's a good thing in what they've done by having it built within the panel.

James.

This is absolutely aweful...I got the game for my dad, and hes having an aweful time fiddgeding with the little nobs on the screen. He cant see the bloody numbers.

Aweful, every ms flightsim from all the way back to i can remember (4.0) had the autopilot setting dialbox. Why the hell would they change it now?

IF IT AINT FIX, DONT FIX IT.

geez,

ommegy

Greeting ommegy:

You didn't say which aircraft your dad is flying, but you can resize the radio stack (just drag the corner) for those aircraft with the AP in the radio stack. He can then make it as large as he wishes.

On aircraft with the AP on the panel, here's a hack that may help:

Edit panel.cfg (in the aircraft's \panel folder (be sure make a backup first) and add under

window05=Autopilot2

(note that window05 should be the next highest number there)

Then add:

BACKGROUND_COLOR=2,2,2
size_mm=156,45
position=8
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL
gauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP, 0, 0

(again, note that Window05 should reflect the next highest number and correspond to the Window Titles entry)

Save the file and start FS2K2 again. Once you're in the cockpit of the aircraft that you edited the panel for, you can call up the AP with shift + 6 (in this example -- the key combo is one more than entry number). He an then resize the AP window to control the AP from this new window.

Hope this helps!
Ben

Ack! The message board removed the square brackets...

Under (square bracket)Window Titles(square bracket)

add

window05=Autopilot2

Under (square bracket)Window05(square bracket)

add

BACKGROUND_COLOR=2,2,2
size_mm=156,45
position=8
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL
gauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP, 0, 0
