I seem to have resolved the problems I was experiencing during the multiplayer session. Reversing the airflow direction of my add in case fan lengthened the time between spontaneous reboots. Leaving the main access panel off the side of the computer seems to have stopped the spontaneous reboots entirely. All the fans; power supply, case (now exhausting air), CPU and video accelerator; are working. There doesn’t seem to be any dust remaining on the vents or heat sink fins. A popular utility reports lower motherboard, CPU and hard drive temperatures with the case fan installed to exhaust air. The temperatures are even lower with the left panel off.
Now experiencing 43°C on motherboard, 36°C on CPU and 35°C on hard drive after running FS connected to persistent world server for two hours (access panel off). I had RW connected the whole time.
I will probably look into acquiring at least one more fan in the hopes I will be able to reinstall the side panel. I got along without the case fan last year, but I suspect the larger hard drive generates more heat than the old one.
