"Eagle II-Tailslides and Tumbles"
09-09-04, 03:28z

Hello,

I am considering a partnership or purchase of a Christen Eagle II or Pitts S-2A, and am just curious how/if these tumble, and if they are approved for tailslides.

Thanks for your time,

Brett

Brett, the Eagle tumbles great and is approved for Tailslides. You can expect to compete well up to Intermediate and into Advanced, but Advanced would be harder on the airplane.

A word of warning, the Eagle has very good spinning characteristics, and is inherently unstable like a Pitts, so please take a full spin course - emergency recovery, inside and outside flat spin, upright and inverted - before even soloing the Eagle. If you're not up to speed, you can get into trouble.

All in all, a very good airplane though.

Regards
Patty
