"New VPC Launcher online"
03-08-03, 20:43z

Greetings:

We're now running a Persistent Flight world in Flight 1 of the Flight Terminal, which will allow FS2K2 pilots to join or leave at anytime and the FS session will continue to run. This will allow pilots the opportunity to fly with others 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without the fear that host may leave and lock out any new pilots joining the flight.

A new version of the launcher is required to be compatible with Flight 1, and it will automatically download when you first click Fly Now! Note that this new version takes a few seconds longer to connect, so please be patient.

Enjoy!

Ben

Hi Ben,
I did try and did not succeed, here the findings
1/ I did answer yes to the load of Launcher V2, in the launcher window I see the IP 66.180.233.62 and the mention "launching"
2/ I waited several minutes ; in Task Manager VPC Launcher is "not responding"
3/ the window "Flight Terminal Persistent" is totally white (see screen shots)
4/ FYI I cannot go to the Message Board via the welcome window no response
5/ I did open an other IE window to VPC , I did receive the 1st window but never the 2nd; VPC seams stuck
6/ I tried to kill all tasks via the Task Manager without success, Finally restarted the PC, I took a long time
I made screen shots, I attach if not successful I will send via e-mail

Config : XP Pro SP1

Greetings Emile:

Your screen shots show that the new version downloaded and installed correctly. Will try and work it out with you in ACARS.

Hi Ben,
I confirm , it is due to the firewall, I run the new free ZoneAlarm version, as soon as I try without the firewall all is ok.
When I try with the firewall running, the Launcher does not receive any "input" from the server VPC.
I only did find in the ZA logging a request from my IE with as address 0.0.0.0 port 2300
NO other entries in the log.
Any recommendations?
Regards
