"Data Center Down tonight"
07-12-02, 02:49z

Greetings:

Yes, we were offline for about two hours tonight. Our data center that hosts the FlightAdventures servers (and about 4,500 other sites) experienced power cable failures this evening. The data center which is powered through three power grids overloaded and melted the cables. Usually when there's a power interruption the backup generators kick in. Unfortunately, these same cables connect the generator to the center as well. Granicus will be looking at solutions to avoid this type of failure again in the future.

Thanks!

Ben
