"Live aviation drama on local TV"

A Navy C2 arriving at Norfolk Naval Air Station / KNGU couldn't get the mains down. This is a midsize twin tail turboprop used as an air cargo and passenger link between aircraft carriers and shore bases. It's equipped for arrested recoveries and catapult launches.

Made a nice wheels up landing at 1917 EDT with arresting gear assisted stop on centerline of runway 10. The plane came to a stop about even with where FS 2004 shows refueling pumps on the north apron. The pilots had stopped and feathered the starboard engine before the landing. A local news helicopter got the whole thing with their high power telephoto camera. Crew and passengers made a PROMPT exit and did not appear to be injured. Pilots used roof hatches while the others were able to use the rear cargo hatch. Didn't even look like the prop tips hit the ground (main gear wells are on bottom of engine nacelles instead of the aft end arrangement of the Kingair).

Earlier in the evening the same crew got some dramatic footage of an Air Force C-131 flying LOW on a mosquito spraying mission. It looked like it was only about 200 ft above ground level. That will make the neighbors keep their heads down!
