"Basic Flying Rules"
04-12-04, 22:19z

I thought I'd copy an excerpt from The Ben Chiu Do It Yourself Flight Instruction Manual for the benefit of beginning pilots - especially TB who deals better with abstracts than technical jargon:

BASIC FLYING RULE : Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do NOT go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is MUCH more difficult to fly there.

G,day Vic,

LOL. I also feel tb,s problem could be , quoting Ben,s (A definative Dictionery of Aviation Terms)
ENGINE FAILURE.. A condition that occurs when all fuel tanks fill with air.
:( :)
Regards tb,
Andy :)

Also:
  • Tilting nose of plane down makes items on ground look bigger.
  • Tilting nose of plane up makes items on ground look smaller.
  • Tilting nose of plane really high makes items on ground look bigger REALLY FAST!

;-)

Also -

You know your landing gear is up and locked when it takes full power to taxi to the terminal.

:)

and on another note to TB - always keep the rubber side down.

Vic

Let's not forget the old standard:

"Try to make the number of landings equal the number of takeoffs."

:)
