1. "RE: Use of Forum."

G,day guys,
I did it again Ben.. hit the "enter" key instead of "tab" after the subject line :(
However, good idea to post in the forum, it has been a bit quiet of late and if we discuss our flight sessions there ,hopefully will encourage others to join in, both in the forum and the flights.
To kick it off I have a query (which I feel could possibly discourage visitors to the VPC) Does anyone experience the persistant Security Warning re Macromedia Flash Player7? which insists is necessary to have installed to view this site etc etc.
I personally haven,t installed it and simply delete it out of the way and is simply a nuisance value to me.
Is there any way to stop it appearing.
My other query (and this should make visitors sit up and take notice) when is the excellent CCCoast Scenery becoming available to us Ben? Don,t see why tb should have all the fun with the 2k2 CCCoast .. but at least it might keep him out of our usual arrival parking area near the tower with all his parked aircraft :)
Regards all,
Andy

Doh! Hate it when that happens. :)

That's what I'm thinking. I don't think visitors know that we have an active community here at the VPC because we tend to mass email each other rather than use the Forums.

You're the second person to have a problem with Flash. Many sites use it and it isn't a virus or anything like that. Anyway, to disable Flash (only attempt this if you're comfortable with regedit:

Click Start, Run, type regedit

Go to following dir:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE/MicrosoftInternet Explorer/ActiveX Compatibility

Click Edit, New, Key

Name New Key:
{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000} (including the {})

Now create new DWORD value inside this key.

Rename this DWORD value to "Compatibility Flags"

Set Value Data to 400 and Base to Hexadecimal.

This seems complicated but you will see along the way it makes much more sense.

If you want to disable flash correctly without compromising performance this is the way.

To enable flash simply delete the key.

We've already released the 2k4 version (FlightAdventures Edition). Have a look in the Crew Forum. :)
