"Show us your rigs!"
09-21-02, 06:10z

Greetings:

My son's machine started overheating (the fan in the power supply stopped turning), so I opened it up to check it out. I typically like to open our systems up at least once a year to evict the dust bunnies, so I figured this was a good time to do that as well.

I'm a big fan of Maximum PC Magazine (IMHO, the best computer magazine out there today), and one of the features they run is Rig of the Month. If you haven't seen them, some of these are really works of art.

Anyway, one of the things I've noticed about all of those machines are how neatly wrapped and organized the wiring is inside. So for my project of the day, I've bundled up all of the wiring of my son's machine.

The big benefit (aside from removing places the dust rodents to hide) is cooling is much better. While this machine isn't anything special, I thought I'd post a picture of the end product in the hopes that it may get some of you guys to talk about your rigs. (Are we computer geeks or what!) :)
